I did not call them to get the RNs but I got the I-485 checks cashed for my wife and me.
The checks for I-485 for my daughter and the checks for AP and EAD were not cashed though.
But again, looks like, July 3rd 9:03 received by R. Williams, is no more a MIA case.
By the way the receipt date is marked as Oct 10th. Service center is NSC.

Did anyone see Byron Dorgan's (Democratic Senator from North Dakota)interview on Stephen Colbert last night? This guy just wrote an anit-outsourcing book (http://www.amazon.com/Take-This-Job-Ship-Brain-Dead/dp/031235522X --no I am not plugging his book!) and he is full of 'they stole our jobs' rhetoric. This is typical outsourcing/globalization-bashing democratic mentality and it's disturbing to seeit still persists 2 years after Presedential elections.
Am I the only one who thinks that if Democratics takes over the House, we are screwed?

Please keep in mind that the US healthcare system is for-profit. That means that there are too many bureaucratic, legal and business reasons for either treating or not treating the patient. There might be cures or procedures or therapies out there, that your doctor or hospital is not interested in because its not covered by your insurance as it is labelled as "Experimental".
Insurance companies are like maggots. They love premiums but when it comes to claims, they try to swipe as many cures and procedures as possible under the rug of "Experimental treatment" so that they dont have to pay.
I would suggest that you do all you can to seek immigration advise but please consider going to India for a month and getting a second opinion from Apollo or AIIMS or such high-quality Hospitals.
I would not trust the for-profit, suck-all-blood-dry, deny-care and inhumane healthcare system of this country where the care-givers and the insurance companies are in collusion with each other to maximize profits and do whatever it takes to maximize profits even when it means that some people die and others go bankrupt even after paying insurance.
Please make sure you try Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai they specialize in Cancer treatment http://tmc.gov.in/.

Atlast all my checks are cashed today. I am able to get my case number from the checks. Even though INS received my application on June 6th, in my 485 it says that they have received my application only on June 11th. Wonder why?

I just read first page of this thread and would advice that don't follow most of reply because they are lawyers or they have not gone through the experience you are going through. $4000 may not be big amount compared to hassle of law suite , piece of mind or the amount of increase you may have received by switching employer. I know a close person who had gone through exactly same situation in NJ and had to pay 12,000 to settle the case. I have seen bunch of people in same situation and my friend always adviced them to stay away from law suite. If your current employer is not big then there are greater chances that it will turn away from you in case of law suite.
If you are not working with same client that you were working when you were in company A then non-compete may not hold against you.
Also can you get in writing from you current employer that they will support you in case of law suite?

He did not leave within couple of months for crying out loud. Some of the desi employers are so greedy and unethical that even after you slog with them for years, they still want to hold on to something just to prove they are employer/boss. This is a lesson for people wanting to help their employers business. I would tell them that it is none of their business to help their employer�s business.

Dividing IV on the Lines on EB2 or EB3 or on basis of ROW/India is something i just dont like. United we stand !!!!!! .
I saw couple of threads earlier from you which talks against porting of EB3 to EB2 - i believe you had some lawsuit idea there for not allowing BS+5 to port to EB2 which is think i highly divisive and unfair on certain peoples
Lets come up with ideas without stepping on each others shoe and i'm 100% willing to join.

Equating labor substitution with porting is real silly. Labor substitution was clamped down, because of abuse, however it didn't mean that it was wrong by its very virtue. However the abuse lead to its closure.
As for porting, I don't see any scope for abuse. Cuz the process is in such a way, that one has to refile labor, 140, and all the exact procedures similar any freshly new EB-2 candidate would. The only difference is that at the end, one has option to request his/her earlier date.
And rightly so, because there's a difference between two Eb-2 filers. One who has not filed anything before, and one has filed "SOMETHING" before. That "something" holds the merit.

What Happens if you are offered Higher Position then the responsibility listed in Job descirption? For eg. Lots of perople apply for Programmer/Analyst Position and over the years of cumulative experiance he is offered Architect Position.

In real life , practically one may be handling the load of directing or managing people though for immigration pupose s/he may just be a software engineer or programmer. But in this kind of scenario one has to be extra cautious to have "Software Engineer or programmer" on offer letter till s/he gets done with immigration. Now some companies may prefer to go by book then one may not have a lot of levarage or choice other than performing the things what offer letter says.. And in that case one should not accept the oppertunity of higher skill and/or function inspite of its lucrativeness as to conclude immigration successfully.

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.
I always checked and read this site but this is my first post and your help would be greatly appreciated.

I did it myself about 5 years back (Aug 2002).. Got approved (Jan 2004) and landed for about 3 days (May 2004) and given friend's address for PR card mailing. He mailed it to my US address... But later I decided to give up Canadian PR for personal reasons... But still it was peace of mind for next 3 years... (2 out of 5 years to maintain PR)...
