When we tried to schedule infopass (for sep) we found only one are two dates and appointments start from 6 AM. Is this correct? Will the office be open so early? We got a slot at 7.30 AM.
Also once you book an appoinment, I see only 'cancel' option, how to get to modify option?

There has been some pickup in contributions, however based on this average, we may only reach 25% of our funding goal. Some things like reserving conference rooms, appointments, need to be done well in advance.
If anyone already has other large financial commitments you could even send a check for a smaller amount and post it here for accounting. Please also let all your friends know about this event and attend and/or contribute. I promise to contribute more.
Amount raised = $2100.00
Contributions needed = $47,900.00

Correct me If I am wrong
out of 45K members let's assume 22.5 K are EB2 and 22.5 K are EB3.
Even If 11.25K (EB2)+11.25K (EB3) = 22.5 K (Total) contributes $25 Each Problems gets solved ... but the catch is ....
Even 11.25 K EB2 members are not contributing because they don't have to as their problem is solved
Even 11.25 K EB3 members are not contributing because they are not sure even with this contribution their problems gets solved.
Many people are saying that EB3 members are not contributing that's why you are lagging etc...
EB3 Members who contributed are feeling the pain because even after contribution they are not getting the results and EB2 members who didn't contributed are getting the results...

Let's assume EB3 at 11.25K. They all know that their are royally screwed unless there is legislative action. So, I would expect 11.25 K EB3 to be at the front of this funding drive. Let's face it EB2 will likely become current sometime in 2012 (per Q and Teddy in other thread), no one is ever predicting this to happen for EB3 barring law change. IF you are in such a big hole, you will have to come forward and work for yourself. We want others to work for us and solve our problems. That is my issue here. With 11.25 K EB3 members we would have still collected quarter million bucks.(@ 25$/person) If EB3-I does not care for itself, why would anybody else give a damn? (PS : I did contribute for the drive as I want everybody's issues with respect to GC resolved, not just mine)

Dear admins,
I think deleting my post was not fair. The other people who have been bashing us with MS degrees need to also have their posts deleted.
I was not offensive in anyway, I just pointed out the reality of the situation and that is not "being offensive."
If you are afraid of alienating some of your contributors, well then by deleting the posts of ppl with Masters degrees you risk alienating them.
If I offended the admin personally if he/she does not have a masters degree, I apologize for hurting your "feelings" but that does not allow you to delete my post .
Finally, since 99% of the time the admins come back with not relevant to the thread, I agree on that ground but respectfully request the deletion of posts by a bunch of others like the "hiring manager" who instigated this discussion.

Can you also delete posts where there was some bashing of people with advanced degrees, just to make it fair? I think the whole thing was started by the guy (GCsucks) by addressing people who attend U.S universities as "Kids" and I agree with "yabadaba" that this is reality and we were just pointing out what the issues are. I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

My dear husband passed very quickly with this horrendous illness, my prayers and thoughts are with the family, god bless

Thanks sirinme, my job responsibilities are similar in the new job (i.e. same job code classification). My only concern is whether is it legally necessary to file papers to USCIS under AC21 informing of job change now or wait till visa numbers for me becoem current again.

in trouble. I am not on H1 but I think the moment you get H1, in this case COS from H4 to H1 within few months you should have paying job. There will be problem at time of extension if no paystubs are present. Bench or not employer need to Pay H1b if he has hired one.

If I were in a similar situation, I would be leaning towards taking some action so that they know that they cannot step over the rights.. If they employ a person, pay him as per the law. If they decide to file for GC, then the employer needs to pay for it, per the law.
The problem with walking down the slippery slope of being amicable is that the boldness to stand up for the right thing also starts slipping away.
I like the idea of writing a letter and reminding them of the law. Even if you might not gain (forget the $4Gs for a sec), you will be making the path better for everyone behind you. And that, my friend, is an excellent thing.

For all those who are waiting...I would suggest one more thing, if your file is not touched. My lawyer had sent an email to NSC on Aug 2. I believe that along with my SR might have done the trick.....Sheela Murthy was my lawyer....that too might have helped....Who know what works....but we can all try.....Hope all who are stuck, get their GC by end of this month.

She also attaches copies of CIS Memos (if applicable) when filing for extensions, reinstatements, etc. so that the IO does not raise RFEs indiscriminately...Once we got our GCs, she sent a long letter regarding Dos and Don'ts after getting Cards

Simple reason USCIS will tell you/senator/judge/anyone who really seek the resolution of our loooooong delayed cases is.....case is in security/background/additional review checks.....so everyone will shut their mouth and forward this message to the concerned person.....
