You are absolutely right, but that is not the sort of solution that Corporations see as what would raise american competitiveness. That is what this whole thing is about.
I feel that even if the SKIL bill passes, there will be another bill in a couple of years to bring down the number of H1s. That is because, the American public will raise their voice.

Hi guys,
My first H1B (2003) had LUD on 14th of July...and today there is a LUD on I-140. My I-140 approved in March 2007..PD is March 2005...Is it good indication that they are doing something with my I-485 case? My application reached NSC on july 2nd (not sure about time as my lawyer sent those papers). My I-140 is from TSC.
Mine is pretty much the same situation and see a LUD of 08/05/2007 on my I-140 today. Hopefully I will see checks cashed in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed. :confused:

Its unfortunate you are confused. Still appreciate you took sometime even with this confused state of mind to give your valuable 2 cents.
First of all, its not between me and employer for that matter. USCIS is delaying the process with no logical reason ( am i repeating myself from my first post - hopefully you read again and properly this time Mr.confused ).
All we want is to have them follow a pattern. Wait what am i doing here, you are confused, doesnt matter what i write here. Let me know when you are normal ( after all the hormones are in order, if at all that happens ), we can talk.
GCStatus, I think Prashanthg's point is a valid one but that in no way means that we should not sue USCIS for what all they have been doing all these years. This in fact will help us prepare our case even more stronger against USCIS. It is best we ourselves find all the gaps we might have while we proceed with this case instead of them coming onto the issue.
I would suggest everyone who ofcourse is in favor or in doubt to bring forward the issues they think we need to cover while we move on with this.

Guys this year's party is pretty much over :rolleyes:....whts the point debating something whether right or wrong which pretty much nobody can do anything about except went frustration from whichever side of the isle one sits on.....
As per Mr C.O. of USCIS I guess they have sent out the party invitation for the year so I guess there is no point sniping at each other. New inivitations will start from July next yr...;)

I could not comprehend the exact purpose of this campaign.

Santosh_gc, I don't have a problem when you talk about illegals getting ahead of legals etc. But the comment about illegal immigrants bringing corruption into the U.S. was way out of line. It is unfair that illegal immigrants may get ahead of legal immigrants. Let us leave it at that and not speculate on how they might introduce corruption into society. No discussions on how they break the law when they enter the country - that is a bogus argument. Just about every one of us breaks the law every time he/she gets behind the wheel of a car, unless you claim you always drive the speed limit. By your logic, then every immigrant from India can be disallowed as we are exposed to as much corruption in India as there is in Mexico and we might infect the U.S. culture just as much. Bkam's comments didn't add any value to the discussion and were just offensive.
I am sorry stucklabour but a traffic/speeding violation is a misdemeanour and not breaking the law. Being in this country illegally is actually breaking the law. Now i am not going to get suckered into a whole legals v/s illegals debate, but at some level i do feel that undocumented workers HAVE broken the law. Besides the argument that "everyone does it" really doesnt cut it. 10 wrongs do not make 1 right. If you look at the punishment for the 2 things a speeding violation leads to a simple fine, a violation of Visa leads to deportation.
Now i personally dont care, whether the US Govt asks the undocumented to stay or leave. What i DO care about is, how we, the legals are treated. So whether the illegals are mexican, indian, chinese, cambodian or actual aliens from Mars, the policy should be: "If you come the right way, you will make it in, if you come the wrong way, you will either NOT make it in at all, OR will have to wait much longer than the people who came in the right way". So poeple pls stop the "racist" remarks against Just the Mexican community and culture. On the other hand the moderators too have to understand that everyone here does have a right to express SOME opinions regarding the undocumented/illegal immigrants. Good suggestion for bringing this to Ombudsman. BUt anyway informing USCIS would be the wise step in a sense you will not invite unforseen problems may be associated with not informing.

If you are close to getting your GC, and you don't expect any RFE, you might want to avoid that potential issue. Of course, if there is long time interval between I-485 filing and the USCIS decision making time, USCIS might like to reconfirm if original job offer is still there. In that case it is better to inform USCIS about the job change, before they issue an RFE.

My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.

My attorney received my receipts as well as my wife's receipts...they sent me scanned receipts....PD Mar 2005...hand delivered to NSC on july 2nd...Received EAD 10 days ago...I-140 is from TSC...had a LUD on 5th august.....Receipts starts from SRC...it got transferred to TSC from NSC.. Received Date is July 2nd...Notice Date is August 14...

Perhaps a few will move on... but there are those who have sincerely been hurt by this "bait and switch". I hope to believe that they would keep this up!
Besides, the aim is to create as much awareness as possible! If we can achieve that, half our job is done!
